Ryan Wyatt, who has served as president of Polygon Labs for over a year, will be transitioning to an advisory role as he steps down from his current position.
This leadership change coincides with Polygon's efforts to implement upgrades and establish the "Value Layer" of the internet, known as Polygon 2.0. The platform aims to achieve "decentralized governance" by July 17.
Polygon has been making significant strides in the blockchain gaming network sector, surpassing Hive to become the second-largest network in terms of unique active wallets. At the time of this announcement, the price of Polygon remains undisclosed.
In his statement on July 7, Wyatt revealed his plan to depart from Polygon at the end of July. However, he expressed his intent to remain involved in the cryptocurrency industry by providing continued guidance to the firm.
Taking on the role of CEO will be Marc Boiron, who currently serves as Polygon's chief legal officer and previously held the same position at dYdX.
Following Boiron's transition, Rebecca Rettig, currently the chief policy officer at Polygon, will assume the role of chief legal officer.
Rettig's expertise has been recognized by the United States Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), as she was recently appointed to serve on the CFTC's Global Markets Advisory Committee's Subcommittee on Global Market Structure, Technical Issues, and Digital Asset Markets.
